What is WeatherEAR?
WeatherEAR is a service that receives data from the National Weather Service NOAA Weather Radio, and sends it via E-mail when there is a warning or other critical information. The receiver for WeatherEAR monitors the N.O.A.A. station located in Cridersville OH (WXJ-93), operating on 162.400, operated by the N.W.S. in Wilmington OH.
There are three types of messages you can get from the system. You can subscribe to any, or all of the lists. These lists are for notification, and not for distribution of information or discussion.

What does WeatherEAR respond to?
WeatherEAR will respond to the following activation codes.
These codes are the nationally accepted codes used by N.O.A.A. and broadcasters.
What counties does WeatherEAR monitor?
At the present time it monitors the following primary counties.
The number in the ( ) is the FIPS code.
The system also alerts for these secondary counties.
The number in the ( ) is the FIPS code.
A primary counties alert supercedes a secondary county alert. Alerts are transmitted within 5 seconds of being received from the NWS or Allen County OHS.
Will anyone else E-mail me, or do others know I'm in the list?
No. This is a robot mail list. Nobody has access to the subscription database, and nobody is concerned who is subscribed. The server is a secure E-mail server, and is protected from spamming.
What is the cost?
There are no cost to subscriber unless you require the someone else to subscribe and unsubscribe you from the list.
How do I start getting these messages?
Do not subscribe to this service unless you keep the help message, or know how to unsubscribe. There is no way to stop getting messages from this service unless you send in a message to eas-unsubscribe@limaweather.com.
Do you have a Spam Filter?
If you have a spam filter, or if your ISP uses a spam filter, ALWAYS place alert@limaweather.com and wxj93@limaweather.com into your White List. If your spam protection thinks these are spam messages, you will not receive the alerts.
Are there any other lists?
A list is being planned for Daily Reports and Local Weather Event notification. It is just in the planning stages. Members of the EAS list will be sent a one time notification when it is available.
